In 1954 Eero Saarinen wanted to eliminate the “FOREST” of legs that supported tables and chairs. The “Tulip” Chair emerged as the solution: a single pedestal supporting the chair and table. The base seems to emerge from the floor levitating the chair and table and eliminating the forest.
